DAY THIRTY-TWO: COUNCIL BLUFFS, IOWA
This was the first time we have ever been in Iowa…we had a great time and missed the large storm that hit right after.
Read the whole blog here!
During the summer, we had a chance to team up with Digital Tour Bus for an awesome project. In the video you’ll be taken around the 11:11 A.M./Dear Jack Foundation tour bus, showing you what life is like on the road. It’s a different look into Warped Tour.
We hope you like it!
Best wishes!
Adam
You treated us very well today, Toronto! Our volunteers, Michelle and Erin, were awesome and we completely sold out of Dear Jack DVDs. So great! If you were planning on picking up a DVD - no worries, we will be restocked in the next couple of days. We will also be having some brand new merch come in (hopefully) next week, so be sure to stop by and check out our new gear once it arrives!
Today was especially wonderful because of how many people we were able to pass our story and mission along to. We met a lot of people who knew of us but didn’t know the significance of young adult cancer research. We also met a few people who had never heard of us, but bought the DVD to learn more and to support our cause. We received so many donations from people who visited the tent today and we couldn’t be more thankful for everyone’s support.
Thank you to everyone who came out today to make this a huge success. It’s great to be in Canada again. Can’t wait to see everyone in Montreal.
Best,
Adam/Leah

Today’s blog is going to be different than the rest. I’m going to let everyone know what it’s like to be on tour from when we wake up to when we go to sleep. You can apply this routine/schedule to any day really. Everyday is almost the same depending on weather. Usually, the day we are in each city, is that cities hottest day of the year (yea, our luck!).
7:30am-
Our alarm clocks go off. When I say “our”, I mean the whole bus and everyone who lives on it. The band (We Are the In Crowd) wakes up at the same time. Around this time, we are all scrambling to brush our teeth, attempt to make coffee, and get dressed to start the day.
8:00am-
We are given a spot by our supervisor, Chris. Chris runs the whole Take Action area (non-profit section). He’s usually running around in the morning make sure that we get some good spots. Setting up the tent and displays usually takes a good two hours.
10:00am-
Around this time, I get texts/calls from our volunteers and I do my best to meet them at the front gate. When I say “do my best”, I really mean run around trying to find the front gate. Since everyday is at a new venue, everything is in a different spot so we never know where we are going really.
11:00am-5:00pm-
Doors open at 11am and kids start to come in. The day usually goes by fast unless it’s 100 degrees. The heat can be brutal but we drink a ton of water to help pass the time. Around 5pm, we start to count out our merch and prepare things to take down.
6:15pm-
We take our tent and table to the truck where it is taken to the next date. After that’s finished, we take all of our merch (bins) to the tour bus/trailer.
7:00pm-
Leah does some data entry on how donations/sales went. I am usually editing photos and thinking of something creative to say in a blog (I hope I am achieving this!). At this point, we are very exhausted but that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy what we are doing. We know our hard work pays off in the end.
9:00pm-
Sometimes at Warped Tour, there is a Barbeque. Since, we don’t get catering, we go to the BBQ to get some food. But there is only a BBQ when we have a late bus call. Bus call is our curfew. Somedays it is really late such as 2am and somedays it’s 10pm. When it’s at 10pm, we don’t usually have a BBQ because the bus has to drive around 10 hours to the next venue.
10:00pm-
We usually go to bed around this time. But with our internet being slow, we try to stay up a little later so we can take advantage of the faster internet.
We hope you enjoyed our day in the life of blog. We do our best to keep everyone informed of everything that goes on during tour. If there is anything we can do more, please let us know by sending us a message.
Rock on,
Adam/Leah

Today was the best Texas date so far. We had a signing with Motion City Soundtrack and we were able to go through the line telling people about the Dear Jack Foundation/11:11 A.M. We even met two people with Jack’s Mannequin tattoos (both had lyrics from the song “Swim”).
It started to rain towards the end but it didn’t stop us! We set up again once the rain stopped and we were able to meet even more people. Our friends, Tinsley and Lianne, were also at the tent helping out for the day. They performed amazing line management when it came to the signing.
We have a lot more signings on the schedule! Can’t wait for new merch too :)
Best,
Adam/Leah
